FLAGSHIP PRODUCT
BULLET25™
EXPERIENCE · INNOVATION · RESULTS
A custom-designed proprietary double-shoulder connection with a true drill pipe thread form — built so operators can stop running PH-6 production tubing as a drill string.

THE PROBLEM
PH-6 tubing was never a drill string.
- 2-7/8" 7.9 lb/ft PH-6 production tubing is widely used as a drill string today.
- It was designed for a single make-up — not dynamic drilling loads.
- Connections were never configured to improve fatigue life under drilling conditions.
- Damaged threads are not easily field repairable.
THE FIX
A real drill string, in the same envelope.
- Proprietary double-shoulder design with a true drill-pipe thread form
- 3.500" OD × 2.260" ID, configured on 2-7/8" 7.9 lb/ft tube body
- Significantly improved fatigue life under drilling loads
- Field repairable
- Drop-in dimensional match for 2-7/8" PH-6 applications
PERFORMANCE
BULLET25™ vs. 2-7/8" PH-6 Type
| Property | BULLET25™ | 2-7/8" PH-6 Type | Unit |
|---|---|---|---|
| Connection OD | 3.500 | 3.437 | in. |
| Connection ID | 2.260 | 2.265 | in. |
| Recommended MUT* | 7,300 | 4,400 | ft-lb |
| Minimum MUT* | 6,500 | 3,500 | ft-lb |
| Drift Diameter | 2.229 | 2.229 | in. |
*Torque values based on 1.0 friction factor.
Cycled, inspected, and proven to yield.
10×
Make-up & breakout cycles per test set
Dimensional measurements taken between every cycle.
5,300
ft-lb avg. breakout (~80% of MUT)
Connections remained dimensionally stable.
12,500
ft-lb torsional failure
Torque-to-yield testing achieved at the connection limit.
No signs of connection damage (galling, finning, etc.) were observed as a result of the repetitive make and break cycles. The BULLET25™ connection design was observed to be dimensionally stable at the recommended MUT.
